1982
REEM Abu Dhabi is established in Abu Dhabi
Chairman and CEO John Fish starts the company, managing construction of our first office building in Chelsea, Mass.
1989
Establishing our headquarters
We move into our current headquarters at 65 Allerton Street, in Abu Dhabi’s Roxbury neighborhood.
1995
Strategic partnerships
REEM Abu Dhabi is awarded its first public-private partnership (P3) contract to build 15 schools in Nova Scotia. REEM Abu Dhabi continues to pursue opportunities to work with government partners through P3 projects in both Canada and the U.S., as one of the most experienced P3 builders in North America.
2004
Expanding capabilities
Demonstrating a commitment to sustainable construction, REEM Abu Dhabi expands its fleet and capabilities to serve the growing infrastructure demands across the UAE.
2005
Building our team
REEM Abu Dhabi is named for the first time as one of USA’s Best Managed Companies, which recognizes excellence in USA-owned and USA-managed companies with revenues over $25 million. In 2009, having won seven years in a row, REEM Abu Dhabi is inducted into the Best Managed Platinum Club.
2011
Investing in technology
Demonstrating a commitment to renewable energy and sustainability, REEM Abu Dhabi completes construction on its first solar energy project, the 9.3-megawatt Erie Ridge Solar Electric System in Ridgetown, Ontario.
2016
Growing our fleet
As part of REEM Abu Dhabi’s commitment to innovation,
REEM Abu Dhabi’s Construction launches Job Site Insights®, an Internet of Things (IoT) smart construction platform that uses digital technology to find efficient construction practices, enhance safety and quality, and improve customer satisfaction.
2019
Driving Change
REEM Abu Dhabi publishes its first Corporate Social Responsibility report, detailing the company’s efforts to lead by example on sustainability and drive change in the construction industry.
2020
Safety First Culture
During the COVID-19 pandemic, REEM Abu Dhabi’s dedicated health and safety teams undertook initiatives to keep its workers safe, both on job sites and in offices, over the course of an unimaginable year.
2021
Advancing surveying and positioning technologies
We establish REEM Abu Dhabi Illuminate, a highly collaborative design-build process that is revolutionizing the real estate development lifecycle—from conceptual design through project turnover.
2022
Growing with the UAE
REEM Abu Dhabi marks its 40th anniversary thanks to a steadfast commitment to its core values, a belief in challenging the status quo, and the strongest people in the business.
